I have been a Disc Jockey since 1987 when I started
performing at Studebakers nightclub in Tempe, Arizona. At Studebakers, I did
not just play music I also performed lip syncs, comedy vignettes, and
interacted with the crowd. Throughout the evening, I put a friendly face on the
nightclub and helped to raise the level of excitement in the room. In 1990, I
earned the opportunity to be a Trainer in another Studebakers franchise in
Osaka, Japan. This experience changed my life in many ways. The cultural
differences were tremendous and in the two years that I lived in Osaka, I grew
as a person. Professionally, as a visiting performer under contract, I was
forced to think more creatively and to be prepared for anything. Learning the
Japanese language was also a challenge.
